Mom's Christmas tree with flash. Mom's Christmas tree with shutter-drag.
Xmas Eve, light dinner of potato pancakes and herringsalat. Sugar takes a little nap, preparing for tomorrow's festivities.
Collin and Amanda show up at mom's, bright and early at 10am; Amanda immediately assumes a defensive posture. Trouble is ever on the lookout for... trouble. Or Sugar.
Rob is comical with joy over his first present of the day. Amanda and Collin regard beatifically from the cuddle-corner.
Mom's Xmas decorations in the dining room. You can just see Rob and me in the mirror. Mom's Christmas Under the Sea involves a lot of white and aqua crepe paper.
OMG! I actually got something from my wishlist! An LED keychain light! Holy fuck, it's a Xmas miracle! I gave mom a copy of Waiting For Guffman, and Rob got The Four-Ingredient Cookbook.
The holiday frenzy of opening more presents continues. Rob, who works at Super Target, hooked me up with a beautiful nacho bowl and four salsas!
Hee, mom regards the copy of Very Bad Poetry I got for her. And here, I'm about to open a box of Jaegermeister - see the movie section.
Mom is clearly filled with joy, at the other end of the room. Amanda grins at me, calling me out for a winter misadventure...
One of the lovely frosted pretzels Amanda brought to the occasion. We set out to play Collin's copy of 'Simpsons Monopoly'.
But first! The wine! Mom calls her new opener 'The Australian'. "This looks like a job for... the Australian." We will never screw up a cork again.
Collin demonstrates how to retrieve the cork from the opener. It's amazing! Mom pours us all a glass of oh-be-joyful.
She likewise demonstrates how to use the vacuum pump to reseal the wine. She got the hookup! But it's too late - Rob begins to amass property like a bitch.
Monorail stops line his amusement parks and soon we all drop out of the game. Mom and Rob relax while everyone else goes out and freezes to death.
Hey, it's Julie, fresh from her other familial obligations! We all sit down to an attractive and traditional Christmas dinner.
Mom and Rob dig in. Amanda and Collin are their usual flurry of activity.
They bet I couldn't get a few awkward pictures that evening. Mmm, all that food and drink... we should do this more often.
My new turtleneck sweater prevents me from fully enjoying the meal. Amanda claims the rest of the potato hot dish... dammit.
It's that time: Amanda has to leave before she kills someone. Goodnight, guys! Aw, they couldn't get out the door without a breakdown...
