 Ordinarily the full moon for this time of year, by the "tropical calendar", is called the Beaver Moon (by some schools). This also happened to be the lunar eclipse, or the penumbra, which is known as a "bloody moon" for obvious reasons. I stood outside in a large parking lot in a crappy part of town to capture these pictures, wishing I had a good zoom lens but making do with what I had, taking shot after marginally different shot of the Bloody Beaver Moon. |
