I'm not, uh, goofy much. I'm not goofy in the way other people are. Generally I'm discouraged from being goofy, because I'll get goofy and scare people off. People seem to have a hard time reading when I'm actually being sarcasting or sincere; likewise, they can't tell when I'm just being goofy or when their lives really are being threatened. It's kind of depressing...

And people tell me to loosen up, not take myself so seriously, but when I do just that then they're immediately on the defensive or they turn insulting. Maybe they just want me to expose my tender vulnerabilities and let down my guard so they can sneak in a few punches. They're not really concerned about my playful nature, they just want to get in a few cheap shots and they know they'll never get past my regular defenses so they have to lull or berate me into a false sense of security. That's shitty. That reinforces nothing positive.

Regardless, once in a while I do get silly for a friend, a special person I know won't reject it or make me regret it. I actually want to be silly once in a while, maybe more than that, but without some snarky bitch (gender inspecific) lurking around to kick me in the underbelly. Maybe that's just not how my life is set up.

So here, then, is a small gallery of me being a dork. Obviously I can't include the single-most embarrassing photo of me, or even allude to it in all but the vaguest sense, but... I had fun with these. At the time.

Too much spaghetti! A-her-hernn! Uh-derrrr... Ah-dooiee... What a lovely centerpiece! Snacks for my cat (company inclusive).
Now that I have one, I have to play with it. Man, am I hungry. Butter! I'm a thirsty boy! Ow! There's a hermit crab in here!
It's a hanger! What're ya gonna do! Curse of the Mad Arab Katze wasn't so hyped up about this. Here Katze was healthy and I was sick. Just him. Just the cat.
Last-second costume for a party. This was what I wore beneath the mask. And here, of course, is my favorite standby. I look like a commercial for lottery tickets or something. My brain needs a new motherboard.
Doesn't this look like a cable access show? Wouldn't you watch it regularly? New haircut. Not really goofy. More Russian than goofy. This is how silly I look while talking on the phone.
