Okay, who doesn't like anime/manga, seriously? Even if you don't understand it, if you don't understand why Japanese cartoonists would draw their characters with round eyes and green hair, if you don't understand why such overt sexual themes can be put into children's shows, if you don't understand why mature, depressive, pathos-evoking material can be displayed for kids, you still have to admire all the work and imagination that goes into these things.
I do, in spades. I enjoy more than I should, probably. Mind you, I can't quote scenes from various OAV movies or refer to characters from specific series. But I do have a few favorites and poke around online and find some incredible artists. I'm going to attempt to cover these here.
And just for shits and giggles, I'm including a page of reviews of Hong Kong movies I've enjoyed in the past. Nothing comprehensive, and maybe out of place on an anime page, but what the hell.
I know that navigating websites in kanji is pretty difficult, so I'll try to provide multiple links so you can go straight to the graphics. Some are good about accommodating those of us who don't speak English, some do that just because it's fashionable; other places outright refuse to cater to them what doesn't speak Japanese out of pride and arrogance. When you find a non-English website, it's a good idea to get to what looks like a Main Menu or Index screen and to for key words like "gallery" or "CG"; otherwise, hover your mouse over all the links and keep your Status Bar open in your browser window, because you can also read the URL links in the Status Bar even if they're in kanji in the main screen. Also helpful is to know to look for certain other words, and for this I've included a anime/manga glossary.
Anyway, I'm going to just list directories of my favorite sites, or very interesting ones, and try to include notes about each one so I can express its appeal for me, as well as what you can expect to find on that site.
